Pactos Knowledge-Based Company
Pactos is the first and only manufacturer of specialized computer and electronic equipment for the visually impaired in Iran. The company was founded in 1991 by a group of graduates from Sharif University of Technology. Since its establishment, alongside its focus on computer engineering (hardware and software), Pactos has been consistently active in designing and producing assistive technologies for the blind community.
Below are some of the company's key achievements in this field:
1994 – Introduced the first computer for the blind in Iran, called Omid Talking Computer, featuring single-letter voice output in Persian, English, and Arabic. It was primarily developed to assist with reading, writing, and editing Braille texts.
1995 – Held the first computer training course for the blind at the National Welfare Organization’s Center for the Blind (Roudaki).
1997 – Developed Iran's first Braille tactile display, called Barjasteh-Negar, enabling for the first time in the world the electronic use of Persian and Arabic Braille texts by the visually impaired.

Website accessibility consulting
Website accessibility consulting:
Why is the accessibility of websites and mobile applications considered important? How is it that all the designers of these applications insist on complying with the principles of accessibility and appear wary of the importance of this issue, yet, fewer applications comply with these principles? Every company and association designs applications for the services they provide, but how is it that "persons with disabilities," as a large and significant part of the target community, are neglected in these designs?
